Finance compared was launched in 2005 as a general website listing the latest offers from financial companies from around the web. The web site aims to bring news on insurance, credit cards, mortgages, loans and other products in the financial sector.

In 2006 the site was re-designed by a professional web designer Michael Payton, to what it is today.
