Sheilas Wheels Car Insurance is designed to offer women a competitive
price with more benefits for their money. They offer a no claim discount that
increases up to 75% plus a free courtesy car if yours is being repaired by
one of their recommended repairers. But there’s a lot more in a Sheilas’ Wheels policy... they offer a unique package of extra benefits including breakdown
cover at competitive rates on the market and additional cover for your handbag
and its contents up to £300 (if it’s stolen or damaged while in
your car). That’s not all; Sheilas’ Wheels also have a network
of repairers who have been trained to follow a female friendly code of practice.
Sheilas Wheels is a division of esure - the UK's fastest growing insurer
ever. esure has always recognised the importance of ensuring that women get
a great deal when buying insurance. In 2004, esure strongly opposed an EU directive
that would have seen women forced to subsidise men through their car insurance
premiums. The idea for Sheilas' Wheels grew from research they carried out
at that time.
Sheilas found that women claim less, are responsible for far fewer driving
convictions and have attitudes towards cars, driving and other road users that
are often more considered than those of their male counterparts. they wanted
to reward these differences and decided that they needed a new brand and a
whole new look at car insurance for women to make it happen.
An all-female management team helped to provide insights to create a brand

Price was relatively easy. By focusing on women, they know that their customers
are likely to make less costly claims and they have reflected this in their
